Position Description
Florida Gateway College is seeking a qualified professional to oversee and teach in the Massage Therapy Occupational Certificate Program. This full-time, contracted faculty position is responsible for program administration, curriculum development, and classroom instruction in compliance with federal regulations, Florida state law, and Florida Gateway College Board Policies.
Key Responsibilities
(Note: The following list is representative of duties and not exhaustive.)

Manage the organization, administration, planning, and continuous evaluation of the Massage Therapy program.

Oversee and maintain the program budget effectively.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including self-study, progress, and annual reports.

Conduct follow-up surveys for graduate job placement, alumni advancement, and employer satisfaction.

Evaluate and revise curriculum annually, in consultation with the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Develop and confirm class schedules and coordinate with faculty.

Review and recommend textbooks to the textbook committee.

Supervise faculty in areas such as syllabi, lesson plans, testing, course offerings, and instructional quality.

Advise and mentor prospective and current Massage Therapy students.

Conduct new student orientation, including safety procedures.

Complete annual evaluations for full-time and adjunct faculty.

Implement inclusive teaching strategies that address diverse learning styles and backgrounds.

Uphold the Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in Florida.

Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages intellectual and personal growth.

Maintain subject matter expertise and promote student-centered, hands-on learning experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Comprehensive understanding of massage therapy principles and state laws governing program operations.

Strong verbal, written, and numerical reasoning skills.
-
Ability to deliver clear, engaging instruction and fairly evaluate student performance.

Computer literacy and proficiency in educational technology tools.
Education and Experience:
-
Successful completion of a state-approved massage therapy program.
-
Associate’s degree in a health or education-related field.
-
Unencumbered Massage Therapy License (Florida).

Minimum of three years of clinical practice in massage therapy.
Preferred Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in health, education, or a related field.
Essential Physical Skills

Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction or aid).

Ability to lift and carry 15–44 lbs.

Work performed primarily in an office, clinic, or classroom setting.
