Position Summary
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) seeks experienced professionals for the role of Adjunct Faculty, Fire & Emergency Medical Technology at its Western Campus.
This part-time teaching position supports the Fire Academy Credit program, preparing students for successful careers in firefighting and emergency response.
Adjunct faculty are hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction to a diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities

Teach a comprehensive range of Fire and Emergency Medical Technology courses.

Prepare and deliver course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and instructional handouts.

Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, lab work, papers, and examinations.

Maintain accurate and timely student attendance, grades, and records in compliance with college policies.

Be accessible to students for academic support and coaching.

Participate in periodic meetings with supervisors, divisions, and college committees regarding teaching responsibilities, training, and professional development.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

State of Ohio Firefighter II certification.

State of Ohio Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II certification.

State of Ohio Live Fire Instructor certification.
-
State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
-
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a certified Firefighter II.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proven organizational and classroom management skills.

Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science.

Master’s degree in any field.

Prior college-level teaching experience.
