General Summary
The Dental Hygiene Program Director serves in a 100% administrative capacity under an 11-month faculty contract. This position oversees all aspects of the AAS and BAS Dental Hygiene programs on the Rangely Campus, including faculty supervision, curriculum development, program evaluation, and accreditation compliance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
The role also includes oversight of budget management, recruitment initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards of academic and clinical instruction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership, management, and oversight for the AAS Dental Hygiene Program and supervision of the BAS in Dental Hygiene Program.

Assist the Dean of Academics with developing course sequence plans and two-year completion pathways to ensure timely student progression and graduation.

Collaborate with the Dean of Academics to develop semester course schedules and recommend faculty assignments.

Initiate and submit program or course modifications through appropriate approval channels.

Conduct faculty evaluations and recommend professional development as needed.

Lead and coordinate program accreditation efforts to maintain full CODA compliance.

Manage the program budget as cost center manager and submit change proposals as required.

Provide guidance and support to adjunct faculty to ensure curriculum consistency and academic quality.

Serve as an academic advisor to students in collaboration with the Advising and Student Success Office.

Lead program marketing and recruitment efforts in partnership with the College’s Marketing and Recruiting departments.

Participate in college-wide assessment of student learning and maintain continuous improvement initiatives.

Attend faculty meetings, departmental reviews, advisory boards, and CNCC events such as Honors Banquet and Commencement.

Maintain current knowledge of educational and clinical trends in dental hygiene.

Uphold CNCC’s mission, policies, and community college philosophy.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academics or the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Secondary Duties

Attend professional conferences and maintain required continuing education credits to retain a Colorado CTE Credential.

Support alumni engagement and outreach initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
Education and Training

Master’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or a related field from an accredited institution.

Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or related field from an accredited institution (minimum requirement).

Eligibility to obtain a Colorado Post-Secondary CTE Credential.
Experience

Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

At least five (5) years of industry experience as a Dental Hygienist.
Licensure/Certification

Current Dental Hygiene License in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain before employment.

Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification.

Certified or eligible for certification in local anesthesia.
