Position Summary:

The Center for Hospitality and Culinary Studies, an American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) accredited program, is seeking adjunct instructors in Culinary Arts for the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms.

Adjunct instructors will provide high-quality instruction, demonstrate leadership in the culinary field, and contribute to the overall success of the program. Faculty are also expected to engage in general college responsibilities both within and outside the division.


Classification Details:

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt

  • Employment Type: Part-Time

  • Hours per Week: As needed

  • Work Schedule: 3 to 6 credit hours per week, per semester

  • Compensation: According to HCC’s Adjunct Faculty Salary Schedule

  • Division: Teaching and Learning (Div) – NEW

  • Department: Health, Science, & Technology (HST) – NEW


Essential Role Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in Culinary Arts, ensuring alignment with ACFEF accreditation standards.

  • Demonstrate strong instructional and leadership skills in the culinary field.

  • Develop course materials and assessments that promote student learning and engagement.

  • Maintain appropriate student records including grades and attendance.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and college-wide initiatives as required.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Certification: Current National Restaurant Association ServSafe Manager certification.

  • Experience: At least one (1) year of industry experience, including supervisory responsibilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) chef-level certification.

  • Five (5) years of professional culinary experience, including management or leadership roles.

  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a professional kitchen or culinary lab setting.

  • Standing for extended periods and handling standard kitchen equipment.
