Position Overview

South Suburban College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach Barbering courses within the Department of Liberal Arts & Science. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in accordance with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) standards, ensuring that students gain the technical and professional skills necessary for success in the barbering industry.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Illinois Barber Instructor Certificate (required).

• 2–3 years of barber teaching experience (required).

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Barber and Cosmetology Instructor Certificates.

• Experience working with IDFPR.

• 2–3 years of teaching experience, with at least one year in Illinois.

• Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into classroom and barber laboratory instruction.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
