Position Overview

Miami Dade College (MDC) seeks qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Adjunct Faculty – Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The selected individual will provide high-quality instruction in CDL courses and related areas, ensuring student success through innovative teaching practices.

Courses may be delivered through multiple modalities, including MDC In-Person, MDC Live (virtual interactive learning), MDC Online, and Blended Classes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach CDL courses in both lecture and laboratory environments.

  • Develop and organize instructional materials that align with course objectives.

  • Assess student progress and provide academic advising.

  • Participate in curriculum development and program improvement.

  • Engage in student recruitment and community outreach activities.

  • Contribute to departmental and college initiatives.

  • Serve on committees and perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Valid Class A CDL license with at least two (2) years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience demonstrating instructional competency.

  • All educational credentials must be obtained from regionally accredited institutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

  • Flexible schedule availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  • Willingness to travel between campuses, training sites, and off-campus locations.
