Position Summary

The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

We seek exceptional candidates with expertise across all areas of Industrial Engineering, including Production and Supply Networks, Operations Research, Manufacturing, and Human Factors.

Preferred areas of research include, but are not limited to:

  • Logistics and Supply Networks

  • Systems Engineering (including Human-AI teaming, Healthcare Systems, and Cyber-Physical Systems)

  • Manufacturing Systems and Automation

  • Digital Twins (including Stochastic Modeling and Simulation)

  • Optimization and Data-Driven Systems

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop a high-impact, externally funded research program.

  • Teach and mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • Supervise graduate research, and contribute to scholarly publications.

  • Provide service and leadership to the School, College, and University.


Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field (completed by the employment start date).

  • Early-career applicants should demonstrate strong potential for independent research and teaching excellence.

  • Mid-career applicants should show a sustained record of scholarly impact, mentorship, and research leadership.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential.
