Position Description
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID) in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical and manufacturing engineering technology.

Mentor and advise graduate students.
-
Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program.
-
Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities.
-
Engage in professional service within the academic and industrial community.
About the Department
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID) is one of 15 departments within Texas A&M’s College of Engineering and is distinguished by its strong focus on applied research and undergraduate education.

The department offers four undergraduate and three graduate programs (including two distance education programs).

Faculty: 112 members, including 36 tenured/tenure-track and 76 non-tenure-track (part-time and full-time).

Qualifications
Required:
-
Earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related engineering/science discipline.

Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, and mentoring.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:

Practical experience in applied research and technology development, particularly in:

Advanced manufacturing systems (design, modeling, control)

Cyber-physical systems

Applied AI and smart manufacturing

Data-driven discovery and optimization

Experience collaborating with industry or government research labs.
