Position Overview
The Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions beginning Fall 2026.
We welcome exceptional candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering, particularly those whose work aligns with the department’s strategic research priorities:

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) – including generative AI foundations and applications
-
AI for Systems and Systems for AI
-
Computer Architecture – with an emphasis on heterogeneous computing systems
-
Signal Processing, Data Science, Communications, and Information Theory
-
Software Engineering – focusing on AI-managed middleware, software generation, and intelligent applications

Responsibilities

Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering

Mentor and advise students, including graduate researchers

Collaborate across disciplines within the Cockrell School of Engineering and beyond
-
Contribute to departmental, college, and university service

Qualifications
Required:
-
A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (earned or expected by August 2026)

Demonstrated potential for outstanding research and teaching

Strong communication skills and commitment to mentoring students
Preferred:
-
Prior teaching or postdoctoral research experience

Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in ECE-related areas
