Position Overview

South Suburban College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in Electronics Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will deliver engaging instruction through in-person, FLEX, or online formats. Our FLEX teaching model offers students the choice to attend classes either in person or virtually through D2L Brightspace, ensuring flexibility and accessibility in learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction for Electronics Engineering Technology courses in accordance with departmental standards.

• Use innovative teaching methods to engage students in both traditional and virtual classrooms.

• Utilize D2L Brightspace or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deliver content effectively.

• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote academic success.

• Contribute to the department’s mission of excellence in technical education.

Qualifications

• Education:

  • M.S. degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, OR

  • B.S. degree in one of these disciplines with relevant professional experience.

• Experience:

  • Previous college-level teaching experience in the related field required.

  • Experience with online instruction preferred.

  • Familiarity with D2L Brightspace or other LMS systems desirable.

  • Strong commitment to teaching a diverse student population in terms of ability, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation.

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

• Status/Salary: Regular adjunct faculty position; salary determined by the adjunct faculty contract.
