Position Overview

The Laboratory for Intelligent Networks and Sustainable Communications (LINSC) at Texas State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Wireless Communication.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading research group driving innovation in next-generation mobile wireless systems, including 6G networks. The position focuses on developing sustainable communication systems that balance performance, energy efficiency, and safety.


About LINSC

The Laboratory for Intelligent Networks and Sustainable Communications is dedicated to advancing the design and performance of future communication networks. Our research addresses not only the growing demand for seamless connectivity but also key challenges related to network power consumption, radio frequency exposure, and sustainability.


Research Focus Areas

The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on future 6G mobile networks, with topics that may include:

  • Massive MIMO for 6G, including cell-free networks and near-field communications.

  • Non-terrestrial networks (NTN) such as satellite and aerial platforms.

  • Sustainable wireless systems, emphasizing energy efficiency and low electromagnetic field exposure.

  • Cross-disciplinary applications involving signal processing, information theory, coding, and machine learning/artificial intelligence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-impact research in the above areas.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers.

  • Publish findings in top-tier journals and international conferences.

  • Present research outcomes at academic and industry events.

  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students engaged in related research projects.


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.

  • Proven ability to conduct independent and collaborative research.

  • Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scientific publications.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and C++.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. specialization in Wireless Communications and/or Signal Processing.

  • Strong publication record in areas aligned with 6G, sustainability, or network optimization.
