Position Summary
Teaches students effectively in assigned classes and maintains office hours for student consultation.

Physical Requirements

May be required to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
-
For credit classes transferable toward a higher degree: Masterās degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.

For workforce education degree or certificate courses: A combination of academic preparation and three (3) years of direct or related work experience (excluding teaching).

For developmental courses: Bachelorās degree or higher in the specific teaching discipline with demonstrated competency (e.g., teaching experience, honors, graduate coursework).

Official transcripts required at the time of interview.

Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide students with a written course syllabus.

Participate in instructional evaluation and apply innovative teaching strategies.

Contribute to curriculum development, book/material recommendations, and discipline support.

Maintain accurate and complete course records.
-
Engage in professional activities and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

Use knowledge of diverse learning styles to enhance instruction.

Participate in student advising and registration.
-
Utilize technology to facilitate learning, maintain records, and generate reports.

Meet all professional assignments per the collegeās calendar and contractual obligations.

Comply with Dallas College policies, state/federal laws, and student conduct codes.

Support the collegeās mission and goals by engaging in planning and committee work.

Attend commencement exercises, college meetings, and activities as required.

Participate in performance appraisals and professional development training.

Work effectively with diverse backgrounds and support student clubs or organizations as needed.

Promote the college through community engagement and marketing activities.

Complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours annually.

Perform other duties as assigned.
