The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applications for its pool of part-time lecturers for the 2025/26 academic year.

This applicant pool is used to fill short-term temporary lecturer positions throughout the academic year, with the possibility of reappointment. Appointments may range from one day to a full semester.
Please note: Applications are valid only for the current academic year (2025/26). The pool closes on May 31st, 2026, and candidates must reapply by June 15th for consideration in the next cycle.
Minimum Qualifications

A Masterβs degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.

In accordance with the California State Universityβs Out-of-State Employment Policy, employees must reside and work within the State of California.
Preferred Qualifications

A terminal degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community.

Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
Salary Information
Anticipated Hiring Range: $5,507 β $6,249 per full-time month (commensurate with degree level and experience).
Official CSU Classification Salary Ranges:

Lecturer A β AY: $5,507 β $6,677 per full-time month

Lecturer B β AY: $6,221 β $13,224 per full-time month
Most initial appointments are made at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
