About the Position
The University of Florida invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in AI-Powered Athletics. This interdisciplinary role focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and data-driven methods to enhance athlete performance, health, and research outcomes.
The successful candidate will work on projects utilizing UF’s comprehensive research databank on student-athletes — supporting both scientific discovery and athletic excellence through data analysis, visualization, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities

Manage, analyze, and utilize athletic data to improve team performance and athlete well-being.

Develop and maintain tools for data curation, visualization, and AI-driven analysis.

Collaborate with UF researchers and University Athletic Association (UAA) staff.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and UAA privacy and reporting regulations.

Contribute to scientific publications, reports, and educational initiatives.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Sports Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with human subject research and related ethics/regulatory approvals.

Proficiency in Python and Git/GitHub.

Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data analysis methods.

Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (e.g., Streamlit).

Familiarity with high-performance computing environments.

Understanding of college or elite-level sports operations.
