Position Overview

  • Provide classroom, laboratory, or hybrid instruction in automotive service technology.

  • Plan and deliver instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and ASE program standards.

  • Engage in student advisement, registration, and support activities.

  • Participate in program development, assessment, marketing, and retention efforts.

  • Model professionalism and maintain cultural competency in teaching practices.


Essential Duties

  • Teach ASE courses as assigned; use classroom, hybrid, or online modalities.

  • Maintain scheduled office hours (minimum five per week).

  • Supervise and enforce safety procedures in labs and workshops.

  • Assist in curriculum development, training instructors, and program evaluation.

  • Serve on college committees or special task forces.

  • Engage in professional development in active learning and cultural competency.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of credentialing programs in Automotive Service Technology or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of related professional experience.

  • At least 2 years teaching experience in higher education.

  • Experience in curriculum development at the post-secondary level.

License/Certification:

  • Possession or ability to obtain Colorado CTE credentials.

  • ASE certifications (G-1 and A1–A8) or ability to obtain.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of best practices in post-secondary instruction.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.

  • Strong communication in English; mobility on campus; ability to lift 25 lbs.
