Position Overview

  • Teach online undergraduate candidates in automotive technology.

  • Focus on proper automobile systems repair and maintenance based on ASE Foundation Standards.

  • Prepare students for ASE Entry Level Exams and support their transition to full-time apprenticeships.

  • Weekly academic instruction and guidance for adult learners who may be working full-time in the field.


Qualifications

  • Education / Experience:

    • Current or former ASE Mechanic, or 3000+ hours of hands-on experience as an automotive technician or auto mechanic.

    • Prior experience as an instructor or lead technician is preferred.

  • Technical / Teaching Skills:

    • Proficiency with online meeting software (e.g., Microsoft Teams) and learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace).

    • Ability to hold night office hours to support working students.

    • Knowledge of modern independent repair facilities or dealership operations, including work ticket processes and hourly rating systems.

    • Familiarity with modern diagnostic technology.

    • Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners and higher education experience.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
