Position Overview

Collin College is seeking a full-time Automotive Technology Instructor to deliver engaging, innovative instruction in automotive technology. This role includes teaching classroom and lab courses, advising students, participating in program development, and maintaining industry certifications and hands-on expertise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses per syllabus and college policies

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and certifications in automotive technology

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students and associate faculty

  • Participate in program curriculum review, development, and continuous improvement

  • Support student success through advising, registration assistance, and retention initiatives

  • Maintain organized lab environments, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safety compliance

  • Participate in college-wide events, meetings, accreditation efforts, and community outreach

  • Flexibility to teach on multiple campuses, dual credit, online, and evening/weekend programs


Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in automotive or related discipline

  • Toyota/Lexus Certification, ASE Certification, and manufacturer-specific training

  • Experience in a Toyota/Lexus dealership or 2+ years of automotive industry experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional industry certifications or advanced ASE credentials

  • Experience with lab instruction, curriculum development, and student engagement strategies


Work Environment

  • Office and lab settings

  • Light physical activity: standing, walking, moving objects up to 20 pounds

  • Safety-sensitive position requiring criminal background check


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $61,128 – $74,368 (based on experience)
