Position Overview

Culver-Stockton College seeks an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin August 2026. The position involves teaching a broad range of criminal justice and legal studies courses, including criminal law, constitutional law, trial advocacy, and dispute resolution. The role is primarily face-to-face, with some online teaching as needed. The college emphasizes experiential learning, student success, and liberal arts education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in criminal justice and legal studies

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong commitment to liberal arts education, experiential learning, and student success

  • ABD candidates (for tenure-track)

  • Master’s degree candidates (for renewable, non-tenure-track lecturer positions)

Preferred:

  • Professional experience in law

  • Strong academic advising skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
