Position Overview
Kern Community College District is accepting applications for its part-time, hourly faculty pool in Administration of Justice (ADMJ). This pool allows the district to contact qualified applicants as needed without waiting for a formal posting period. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications may be contacted for teaching assignments at Cerro Coso Community College, including other campus sites. Assignments may include:

Day, evening, or weekend classes

Large enrollment classes
-
Distance learning and hybrid courses
-
Multiple teaching methodologies
Applications remain active for up to two years.
Responsibilities
-
Teach a full range of Administration of Justice courses
-
Participate in student recruitment and transfer articulation for the ADMJ department
-
Maintain current knowledge in the field
-
Develop and revise curriculum
-
Incorporate technology and multimedia into instruction
-
Participate in departmental, college, district, and discipline-specific professional activities
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
-
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related professional experience, OR
-
Associate degree and 6 years of related professional experience, OR
-
Possess a valid credential authorizing full-time teaching of Administration of Justice, OR
-
Equivalent combination of education, experience, and accomplishments (application for equivalence required)

Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (foreign degrees require evaluation)
Knowledge & Abilities

Broad preparation and depth of knowledge in Administration of Justice

Ability to work collaboratively in an environment that promotes teaching, learning, and innovation

Capability to work effectively with students of diverse skills and goals

Competence in curriculum development for multiple delivery modalities

Participation in recruitment and articulation activities with schools and colleges

Strong oral and written communication skills

Familiarity with computers and educational technology

Commitment to the California community college mission
