Position Description

The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for its 2025–26 Professional Track Faculty Pool. The Institute seeks qualified candidates for temporary, non-tenure-track teaching positions at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Teaching needs vary by semester and are determined by enrollment demands and funding availability. Appointments are typically made on a semester-by-semester basis; however, occasional one-year appointments may be offered when departmental needs arise. Positions may be renewed annually, contingent upon performance and budgetary resources.


Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred

  • A strong record of teaching excellence is highly desirable
