Overview:
The evolve-D lab, led by Siobhán Cully in the Department of Anthropology at Rutgers University, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher. This position focuses on interdisciplinary projects in evolutionary medicine and human behavior. Candidates with expertise in quantitative, laboratory, or field-based methods, as well as theoretical knowledge in kinship, gendered labor divisions, or disability evolution, are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:

Conduct research on evolutionary medicine and human behavior.

Design and implement lab or field research programs, including accessible training protocols.

Utilize human biological lab-based methodologies such as human energetics, anthropometry, and biological markers.

Perform quantitative analysis of complex datasets.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and contribute to publications (in press or near-submission acceptable).

Present research findings at conferences and contribute to scientific publications.
Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Anthropology, Biology, Demography, Statistics, or a related field (or expected by May 2026).

Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas:

Accessible lab or field-work design and training

Human biological lab-based methodologies

Quantitative data analysis

Evidence of collaborative research publications or manuscripts in preparation/submission.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong theoretical and methodological background in human evolutionary biology and behavior.

Proficiency in laboratory, field, or computational research techniques.

Excellent analytical, scientific writing, and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary research teams.
