The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in Anthropology while showing sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities:

Teach introductory courses in Anthropology, including Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, and Biological Anthropology (lecture and laboratory).

Deliver instruction in-person, hybrid, or online; evening classes may be required.

Advance equitable student learning using inclusive and anti-racist pedagogies.

Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes and program review.

Collaborate in curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

Engage in professional development, department/division/college committees, and shared governance.

Maintain course materials, assignments, grading, and office hours.

Maintain professional conduct, ethics, and up-to-date knowledge in the discipline.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s in Anthropology or Archaeology, OR Bachelor’s in Anthropology/Archaeology plus Master’s in Sociology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genetics, or Paleontology.

Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications:

Experience teaching college-level Anthropology courses.

Commitment to culturally responsive curriculum and inclusive teaching methods.

Experience teaching students underprepared for college-level reading/writing.

Experience across multiple teaching modalities: face-to-face, hybrid, online.

Commitment to equity, innovation, and faculty responsibilities beyond the classroom.
