Department Overview:
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of San Diego (USD) invites applications for a two-year Teaching Pathway Postdoctoral Faculty position, beginning Fall 2026. Located on the U.S.-Mexico border, USD seeks candidates interested in the scholarly exploration of the social, political, cultural, physical, and environmental impacts of borders. Interdisciplinary collaboration and research on topics such as immigration, border justice, refugee experiences, and ecosystems in border regions are encouraged.

Position Overview:
Postdoctoral faculty will teach courses in their field of expertise, continue research, work closely with departmental mentors, and participate in faculty development programs. Preference will be given to candidates who have not held a tenure-track faculty position. The program emphasizes teaching excellence at a primarily undergraduate institution and fostering inclusive communities.
Qualifications:

Minimum: PhD or terminal degree completed by September 2026.

Preferred: Candidates with teaching and research experience aligned with border studies, interdisciplinary scholarship, or relevant fields.
