Compensation & Benefits

Compensation varies by course content and ranges from $1,297 to $3,753 per credit.
In some cases involving low enrollment, compensation may be prorated at 10% per student.

Job Description

Aims Community College is committed to cultivating an environment aligned with the College’s Mission, Vision, Values, and its culture of innovation and care. We are seeking part-time faculty who are excited to contribute to this environment and bring strong instructional expertise to our students.

Faculty members are primarily responsible for teaching and for engaging in co-curricular activities that support the College’s educational goals. Occasional travel may be required.

Job Duties

  • Teach a variety of courses in Astronomy, Geology, or Physics based on expertise.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development.

  • Collaborate with full-time faculty serving as course captains.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Academic Dean.


Work Hours

Day and/or evening classes may be assigned at the Greeley campus or satellite locations in Loveland or Fort Lupton.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, earth system science, or a closely related field, including at least 12 graduate credits in discipline-specific coursework,
    OR

  • Master’s degree with 18 graduate-level credits in meteorology.

  • No more than 6 of the required 18 credits may be in graduate-level science education courses.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous college-level teaching experience.

Screening & Selection Process

  • Initial screening is based on the completeness and quality of submitted application materials.

  • Finalists will be selected for interviews by the screening committee.

  • Temporary assignments (less than 6 months) such as curriculum projects, meetings, or substitute teaching may be offered and may include additional pay.

All positions require a criminal background check and may require other screenings (MVR, physical, drug screen) depending on the role. A conviction does not automatically disqualify a candidate; relevance to job duties will be considered.
