Position: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track – Pediatric Cardiovascular Research
Type: Full-Time, Tenure Track Faculty
Departments: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Cardiovascular Institute (CHOP CVI) & Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Overview:
CHOP and Penn are seeking candidates with expertise in fundamental or translational research relevant to pediatric cardiovascular disease. The focus areas include cardiac development/regeneration, immune/metabolic origins of cardiovascular disease, heritable cardiac diseases (channelopathies, cardiomyopathies, aortopathies), precision/genetics-based therapeutics, and bioengineering/novel technologies. Candidates may hold an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Establish an independent, extramurally funded research program in pediatric cardiovascular health and disease.

  • Teaching: Mentor trainees at multiple career stages, participate in graduate/medical student education, lead lectures or didactic sessions.

  • Clinical (if applicable): Outpatient/inpatient consults and attending duties for clinician-scientists; not required for basic scientists.

  • Collaborate within CHOP CVI and Penn CVI for translational and clinical research initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated potential for independent, high-impact research.
