Overview:
USF Health seeks Academic Hospitalists to provide inpatient care primarily during night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM) in a teaching hospital setting. The role combines clinical care, supervision of residents, teaching of medical students, participation in research, and quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care for general internal medicine, transplant, and surgical co-management patients.

Supervise and teach residents, fellows, and medical students.

Participate in research and scholarly activities.

Develop and implement care protocols, ensuring quality and patient safety.

Work in a 7-on/7-off block schedule with flexibility.
Minimum Qualifications:

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine.

Record of achievement in teaching, research, and service.

Eligible for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Full, unrestricted Florida Medical License (or eligible to obtain one).

1–3 years of hospitalist experience, ideally in an academic medical center.

Experience in teaching, clinical research, and inpatient hospital medicine.
