Position: Cardiovascular Surgeon – Minimally Invasive Robotic Cardiac Surgery
Department: Surgery – Cardiothoracic, IU School of Medicine

Position Overview:
The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a board-certified Cardiovascular Surgeon with specialized training in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and provide advanced care for complex cardiovascular patients, including coronary revascularization, valve repair/replacement, and robotic valve operations. The role includes teaching and mentoring residents and fellows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide complex cardiovascular surgical care, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures.

  • Teach and supervise residents and fellows in clinical and surgical settings.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team-based care and quality initiatives.

  • Engage in innovation, research, and advancement of cardiothoracic surgery techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD/DO degree.

  • Board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

  • Completion of general surgery residency and cardiothoracic fellowship (or integrated program), with additional training in minimally invasive/robotic cardiac surgery.

  • Licensed or eligible for medical license in Indiana.

  • Strong leadership, teaching, and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery.
