Mission / Purpose:
Advance understanding of psychiatric, substance use, and biomedical disorders with a behavioral component through research in genetic epidemiology, molecular genetics/genomics, and statistical methods. Faculty will develop and grow their research program, obtain grants, publish, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor graduate students and postdocs.
Key Responsibilities:

Research: Conduct and expand research in areas complementary to VIPBG, including statistical genetics/genomics, behavioral genetics, computational genetics, and/or neuroimaging.

Teaching / Mentorship: Contribute to relevant courses and mentor trainees in research programs.

Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, as well as professional service such as peer review or conference organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
MD, PhD, or equivalent with training in statistical genetics/genomics, behavioral genetics/genomics, computational genetics/genomics, or neuroimaging

Strong research agenda with potential for external funding

Commitment to fostering a professional and inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Expertise in statistical, behavioral, or computational genetics/genomics, multi-ancestry genomics, bioinformatics, or emerging technologies (e.g., single-cell sequencing)

Skills in structural equation modeling, longitudinal/developmental modeling, multivariate analyses

Proficiency in computational tools (Python, R, high-performance computing)

Optional experience in neuroimaging research (structural MRI, fMRI, connectivity studies)
