Position Overview

Mercer University’s Mercer Medicine clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality primary care to the general population. This role operates under physician supervision and written protocols in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Georgia. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary health care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Provide immunizations, injections, and preventative care as needed.

  • Make referrals to medical specialists when appropriate.

  • Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and self-care strategies.

  • Work independently and collaboratively with physicians under established protocols.

  • Enforce clinic health and immunization policies.

  • Utilize EMR (Athena) and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.


Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing/Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.

  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC or AANP.

  • At least one year of experience in a general clinic setting, preferably in a physician practice.

  • Certificate of current liability insurance.

  • Competence in Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Prescriptive authority via MD’s DEA or own DEA.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a family practice setting.
