Position Overview
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) at the University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty position. The successful candidate will join a nationally respected PA program offering a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and training 56 students annually across two campuses. This position begins on or before July 1, 2026, with rank determined by qualifications.
The department values teaching excellence, scholarship, and service. Faculty members may also engage in clinical practice (up to 20% effort) to provide evidence-based patient care.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality instruction in didactic and/or clinical components of the PA curriculum (55β80% effort).

Participate in scholarly activity and research (10β30% effort).

Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

Potentially engage in clinical practice to maintain licensure and provide patient care.

Opportunities exist to teach in undergraduate programs, the PA Academic Residency program, and the interprofessional PhD program in Rehabilitation and Health Sciences.
Qualifications
Required
-
Graduation from an accredited PA program with a Masterβs degree in PA Studies or an MD, DO, or APRN degree.

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice in Kentucky.

Evidence of excellence in teaching.
Preferred
-
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.

Prior higher education or clinical teaching experience.

Experience in scholarship or service related to Physician Assistant Studies.

Completion of a doctoral degree.
