Medical Director – Physician Assistant Program (0.33 FTE)
North Carolina A&T State University’s Physician Assistant (PA) Program invites applications for a part-time Medical Director at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor or above. This leadership role reports to the Program Director and plays a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the PA program.
The Medical Director will provide oversight for didactic instruction and supervised clinical experiences, ensuring the program meets current practice standards and ARC-PA accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Medical Director serves as an advocate for the program and liaison to the medical community in North Carolina and the surrounding region, facilitating clinical placements, faculty recruitment, and program growth.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the PA program’s curriculum development and evaluation.

Oversee clinical instruction to ensure competencies align with professional practice standards.

Serve as a program advocate and liaison to the broader medical community for clinical placements and partnerships.

Collaborate with the Program Director, Dean, and academic leadership to implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Participate in program and university committees related to operations and curriculum.

Promote inclusive education and mentor graduate students in clinical and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Doctoral degree in a health, education, or administrative discipline.

Medical degree from an LCME or AOA-accredited institution.

Active physician license in North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications

Board certification through an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board.

Knowledge of PA program accreditation processes and experiential education site development.

Current clinical practice in the community as a licensed physician.
