Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice / Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist
The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the North Dakota State University (NDSU) School of Pharmacy invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, offering progressive clinical pharmacy practice opportunities at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. The role includes full-time responsibilities during the academic year and full-time or part-time work during the summer.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Coordinate and/or teach pharmacotherapy topics within the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum, including subject areas such as internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, and hematology/oncology.

Deliver instruction through case-based courses, didactic teaching, and/or laboratory sessions.

Precept Pharm.D. students during Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) at Sanford Medical Center Fargo.

Engage in integrated clinical practice opportunities based on expertise, participating actively in patient care during scheduled shifts.

Contribute to research/scholarship and provide service to the School, College, University, and practice site.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Pharm.D. degree
-
Completed or completing a PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency, or at least three years of recent, consistent clinical pharmacy practice experience involving direct patient care

Eligibility for North Dakota pharmacist licensure
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Strong leadership, collaboration abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to self-development
Preferred Qualifications
-
Completion of a PGY2 residency in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or Oncology
-
More than 3 years of consistent clinical pharmacy practice experience
-
Experience in collaborative drug therapy management and team-based care
-
Minimum of 3 years teaching in pharmacy or medical programs
-
Minimum of 3 years precepting in pharmacy or medical programs
-
Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or other BPS certifications
-
Additional certifications in relevant healthcare fields
-
Demonstrated research/scholarship activity
-
Experience obtaining and managing grants
