Wilkes University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice (non-tenure track, faculty of practice) with a concentration in ambulatory care. This position is housed in the Department of Pharmacy Practice within the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026, pending available funding.

Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care at their clinical practice site. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of chronic disease states and serving as an engaged preceptor and mentor for student pharmacists.

In addition to experiential education, the selected candidate will contribute to:

  • Didactic teaching in both small and large classroom settings, including skills-based courses

  • Service to the University and the pharmacy profession

  • Academic advising for students

  • Scholarly activity consistent with the School’s mission

Excellence in teaching will serve as the primary criterion for promotion.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required

  • Pennsylvania pharmacist license (active or obtainable immediately upon hire) required

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency required

  • Completion of or current enrollment in an accredited PGY-2 ambulatory care residency preferred; comparable ambulatory care experience will also be considered

  • Willingness to obtain a Pennsylvania injectable medications administration license within one year of hire is preferred

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
