Role Summary
Stony Brook University is seeking a tenure-track Research Assistant/Associate Professor in Neurology with expertise in Alzheimerās disease, related dementias, and nutritional/healthy lifestyle epidemiology. The position involves leading independent research, analyzing neuroepidemiological data, developing grant proposals, and mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct and report research on Alzheimerās disease, cognitive decline, and related dementias.

Focus on nutritional and healthy lifestyle factors to prevent cognitive decline.

Design, manage, and participate in neuroepidemiological studies and surveys.

Collect, analyze, and interpret data; prepare manuscripts and operational/statistical reports.

Develop grant proposals and secure funding for research programs.

Educate the public and scientific community on research findings.

Collaborate with colleagues and interdisciplinary teams on research projects.
Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a field related to neuroepidemiology or public health.

Track record of leading federally funded research grants in Alzheimerās disease and dementia, with a focus on nutrition and healthy lifestyle factors.

Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proficiency in statistical software and large databases.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading multiple federally funded grants simultaneously.
