Role Summary

The Department seeks multiple Research Associates to join the Academic Support Staff. These positions are initially one-year appointments, renewable up to three years based on performance and funding availability. Candidates will contribute to cutting-edge research in longitudinal causal inference methods, epidemiology, biostatistics, or quantitative/computational science.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply statistical, causal, and machine learning methods for complex longitudinal data, including electronic health records, registries, biobanks, pragmatic trials, and cohort studies.

  • Collaborate on projects across palliative care, critical care, and health services research, working with faculty, clinician-scientists, epidemiologists, and biostatisticians.

  • Support methodological development for clinical trials, observational studies, and Bayesian causal inference applications.

  • Lead innovative methodological projects with increasing autonomy and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.

  • Engage in team science while building a path toward independent research.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related quantitative/computational field.

  • At least one year of postdoctoral experience.

  • Expertise in longitudinal causal inference, advanced statistical methods, or machine learning applications.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills.
