About the Role

Rutgers University seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to join the Child Health Institute of New Jersey. The position focuses on novel innate immune cells in vital tissues such as the lung and brain, studying how immune and non-immune cell interactions influence disease outcomes in airway and brain disorders. The role combines hands-on experimental research, data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant development, and mentoring.


Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, and analyze experiments using flow cytometry, animal models, single-cell RNA-seq, multiplex cytokine assays, and immunofluorescence imaging

  • Assist with research methodology, experimental coordination, and development of performance standards

  • Prepare manuscripts, grant applications, and presentations

  • Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students

  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure data accessibility

  • Stay up-to-date with current literature and experimental techniques


Qualifications

Required:

  • PhD in a relevant field (ABD candidates considered)

  • Published scientific articles and strong scientific writing skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database/reporting tools

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

  • Highly motivated, creative, and interactive

Work Environment:

  • Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals, moderate noise, and potential lifting
