• Associate Professor: $135,000–$155,000

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is recruiting a vision scientist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Research areas of interest include neuroimmunology, epidemiology, AI, macular degeneration, and ocular regenerative medicine.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build a productive research portfolio aligned with departmental scientific foci.

  • Establish and maintain competitive extramural funding.

  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to multidisciplinary clinical and translational efforts.

  • Participate in major grant applications and team-science initiatives.

  • Mentor trainees, junior faculty, and research personnel.


Work Location

Onsite in Aurora, Colorado at the Sue Anschutz Rodgers Eye Center, a large, state-of-the-art ophthalmology facility.

Qualifications

Assistant Professor

  • PhD and/or MD

  • Independent research program competitive for extramural funding

  • Preferred: Evidence of prior funding

Associate Professor

  • PhD and/or MD

  • Secured extramural funding (NIH R/U grants)

  • Preferred: National recognition, active funded program

Professor

  • PhD and/or MD

  • Repeated extramural funding success

  • National reputation and well-developed research program

  • Preferred: Thought leader in the field

Skills: Strong communication, research expertise, mentoring and teaching ability.
