The Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University conducts leading research on nutrition, aging, and chronic disease prevention. This position supports the NIH-funded BRIO study, focusing on biological mechanisms of aging and resistance training in older adults.
What You’ll Do
-
Serve as the primary clinical nurse for the BRIO study.

Perform clinical procedures: IV insertion/maintenance, phlebotomy, timed blood draws, EKGs, resting metabolic rates.

Screen and assess participants, review health histories, and obtain informed consent.

Monitor participant health changes, document adverse events, and report findings to MD/PI.

Administer investigational substances and support protocol procedures (fat biopsy, muscle biopsy, etc.).

Maintain accurate electronic and written clinical research documentation.

Coordinate data collection, ensure regulatory compliance (IRB, FDA, GCP, CITI).

Participate in team meetings, assist with staff orientation, and support additional MRU activities as needed.

May require evening, weekend, or extended shifts.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
-
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
-
Active Massachusetts RN license
-
IV and phlebotomy experience
-
Clinical experience in a hospital/clinic setting
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel
-
CPR/AED certification within 2 weeks of start

Human Research Participant Protection training within 2 weeks

Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:

Clinical research experience

Knowledge of IRB policies

Experience with REDCap or similar databases
Pay Range
Minimum: $72,500
Midpoint: $90,700
Maximum: $108,900
Salary depends on experience and internal equity. New hires typically fall between the minimum and midpoint.
